About

Hey, I’m Lena

I’m so grateful that you found your way here. Let me share a little more about myself.

I grew up on my family’s dairy farm in Southeast Qld and am a country girl at heart. I am the youngest of 5 children and as a family we also fostered many other children throughout my childhood. Our home had an open door for anyone who needed it, was full to the brim with love but not without its challenges. What I learnt early on in life was that challenges could be overcome with a little hope, a lot of love and a healthy resilient mindset. After my childhood experiences it felt like the natural progression for my life was to educate and help others to get the best out of life despite the challenges they face and so I began my career in education.

I now have over twenty years of experience working in education settings. I have worked as a day care teacher, classroom teacher and a school guidance counsellor in primary and secondary schools within both rural and urban communities. As well as my teaching and guidance counselling qualifications, I am trained in many other areas of mental health and am up to date with industry and educational best practice.

The biggest realisation I have had during this time is that life is beautiful and challenging all at the same time.  I like to think of life as a road trip, because it just like one big adventure full of so many different experiences, people to meet and new exciting places to see.  But just like any road trip there are always going to be roadblocks along the way that will present challenges.  One of biggest challenges for kids and teens right now is anxiety. Over the years I have seen them struggle for way too long with anxiety and other mental health difficulties. They feel powerless so they desperately try to avoid it and in doing so lack the resilience and confidence needed to overcome it. This is becoming an ever-increasing concern for parents and educators alike, who want to do all they can to help if they just knew how best to.

I created The Resilience Revolution because I want kids and teens to be given every opportunity possible to live their best lives. I’m on a mission to empower them with the tools needed to set themselves free from anxiety and whatever else is holding them back in life so they can step into each day with resilience and the confidence of knowing that no matter what happens they will be okay. I also share with parents and educators my knowledge, insights and practical tool to help them create environments in which children can truly thrive.

I’m a Mum of two girls and let’s be honest raising resilient kids is not easy. I have found that as parents and educators we are often so busy trying to meet the needs of our kids that we neglect our own. But my experience strongly indicates that adults can cope with the pressures of raising kids much better when they are travelling on a full tank. One of most important things children need to thrive in life is to see those that care for them thriving also.  This is why I am so passionate about helping you revolutionise how you look after their wellbeing by focusing on your own first.

Building meaningful connections with others has always been my strength.  People often get chatting with me and say they feel like they have known me for years and feel so comfortable to chat with me openly. I’m a practical, compassionate but also a no fluff type of person.  I like to get to the heart of the problem and create an actionable plan to solve it. I don’t take myself too seriously and love to have a good laugh. When I’m not working, I enjoy the best of both country and coastal lifestyles where I live with my husband and two girls in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.  I love the simple things in life like writing, reading, listening to music and spending quality time with my nearest and dearest. My favourite quote is from Maya Angelo and it sums me up to a tee. “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive and do so with some passion, some compassion, some humour, and some style.” I have had the privilege of supporting thousands of kids, teens, parents and educators navigate their way through anxiety and other life challenges so they can thrive and I can’t wait to help you and yours thrive too.

Best wishes always, Lena x

Set your child up on the road to a thriving future.
